White Bay Power Station, Biennale & lunch.

Free Entry to White Bay and exhibition.  Opal card for Bus and Rivercat. Buy own lunch at The Rowers Lounge.

Number – 20 max (for public transport). Bookings taken at the May meeting. Alternate travel possible.

Departure: meet at Cabarita Wharf by 10am for 10.08 Rivercat to Chiswick and 504 bus to Rozelle. Walk 4 minutes to the entry to look at the Power Station and the exhibition until 12.25pm- meet at exit.
Return: catch the 504 bus to Chiswick from Evan St /Victoria Road (8 min walk). Board the 1.20pm Rivercat to Abbotsford for lunch at The Rowers Lounge. Then take the Rivercat back to Cabarita at 2.40, 3pm or a later one (they run every 20 minutes at that time)
LUNCH IS OPTIONAL and some may prefer to stay on the 1.20pm Rivercat back to Chiswick.
The restored White Bay Power Station with it soaring brick smokestacks, opened, to host part of the 2024 Biennale of Sydney from March to June 10th. This is a chance to see the works in progress.
NSW has done extensive remediation and conservation works to repurpose White Bay Power Station as an arts, cultural and community hub. It is the only one retaining machinery and equipment from before the 1950s, demonstrating the process of electricity production for the Sydney rail network.
