Our next monthly meeting will be advised as soon as the government announces it is safe for us all to be together again.
Finally the website has been updated. I’ve neglected it for far too long. I feel as if I’ve been very busy over the last six months since our AGM but I can’t say exactly what I’ve done! Does that feeling sound familiar to you during Covid 19?
It seems such a long time since we were able to get together as a Club to catch up with old friends and meet and make new friends with those members who joined this year.
Some groups have begun regular meetings and activities and information on groups is on the Groups page. If you are interested in regular walks, making cards, getting together with others to make art works, reading and discussing books or perhaps playing tennis then contact the convenor.
Regular newsletters have been and are still being distributed. Without excursions, trips theatre, films and activities it is difficult to find items of interest for members so if you have any ideas for interesting articles, jokes, stories etc please send them to Daphne or let one of the committee members know so they can pass your item on.
Watch the next issue to read of the travails of a few of our members who recently took a road trip!
Future editions will feature articles on the history of our local area. Did you know Captain John Hunter led an exploration of the Parramatta River in 1788 or that the name Cabarita, meaning “by the water”, is an Aboriginal word?
Have a look at this old map of the area and you might discover a long lost relative who owned land locally.
